Karen joined Shell International Petroleum Company Ltd. where
she spent ten years in human resources and industrial relations
working across the oil and chemical sectors.
In 1983, Karen traveled to Australia where she worked for eight
years. As the group executive for human resources and strategic

investment banking and investment management human resources.
As a member of the Steering Committee responsible for the successful
European integration of Chemical Bank and Manufacturers Hanover,
Karen extended her expertise in change management and organisational
leadership. Within JP Morgan, she led and advised on the transfer
and integration of the European branch network within the markets
business. As Human Resources Director at Foreign & Colonial,
Karen worked extensively with Hypo-Vereinsbank main board directors
on the creation of the asset management division for the merged
