Lucy is Anglo-American.
After graduating with an honours English degree from Georgetown
University in Washington DC in 1989, Lucy moved to London as
a public relations consultant with Edelman Public Relations.
She worked primarily in the healthcare sector, developing and
implementing campaigns to promote pharmaceutical products (for
which she won an industry award).
She subsequently obtained an MBA (with distinction) from London
Business School before joining Accenture's change management
practice. At Accenture, Lucy specialised in organisation design
and development, and especially post merger integration, across
a range of industries (including banking, telecommunications,
utilities and insurance).
In 1997, she joined GHN (now Penna Executive Coaching), at the
time the UK's leading coaching company. After a year's intensive
apprenticeship to develop her coaching skills, she coached senior
executives across a range of private and public sectors. She
was also an active contributor to GHN's professional development,
designing new coaching products and tools, a coaching competency
framework and a coach induction programme and performance management
system.
In 2000, she co-founded The Coaching Partnership with Mike Milan.
She typically works over six to 12 months with clients, helping
them to develop a personal and business strategy, and plan and
implement action to enhance their effectiveness and personal
leadership.
Lucy holds a British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy
(BACP) recognised diploma in person-centred counselling from
the Metanoia Institute, as well as a diploma in communications,
advertising and marketing. She has co-authored a book, entitled
The Reflecting Glass: Professional Coaching for Leadership Development
with Mike Milan, published in 2001 by Palgrave (formerly Macmillan).
Lucy is a Justice of the Peace.
